ABOUT GEMMA

Hi there, I’m Gemma (not Romy....I explain below) and thank you for looking at my site...I hope you enjoy looking around and more importantly I hope I get to say HI to you soon!

So let's quickly clear up the Romy Lawrence thing....my children are called Romy and Lawrence, (I actually now have a Henry too...awkward). It only seemed fitting to name my business after them, especially as they have to endure me endlessly pointing my camera at them.

Photography has been a lifelong love of mine and I like to think this is reflected in my work. For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with photographs, and not just taking them. One of my favourite things to do is sit at my Mum’s house and leaf through all the gorgeous albums she put together of my brothers and I as we were growing up. It’s so heart-warming and the pictures tell such a beautiful story.

Since studying at University and gaining a 1st class mark for my final Photography Exhibition, I joined the corporate world - working long hours and leaving my creative side behind. I always felt a big part of me was missing. It was only when I had my own children that I picked up my camera again, wanting to create for them what my Mum created for us. It's now something I want to do for the rest of my working life.

I absolutely love capturing Weddings in an honest, soulful, natural and atmospheric way. My style is timeless, creative, emotive, soft and romantic. Every Wedding is individual and my aim is tell the story of your day through the images I take, not only capturing those big moments but also the hundreds of smaller significant moments. With an eye for detail and creative compositions, my work will bring your Wedding day back to life in the most moving way.

The most common personal feedback I get is how at ease I make people feel, a calming presence on your Wedding Day.
